Resume Advice
As you certainly know, your resume is incredibly important. This is your first an sometimes only impression on an employer. Your resume is your make or break for getting a foot in the door and getting an interview. There are dozens of standard ideas about resumes: keep it to one page, put words related to the job skills you need, keep it organized, and try not to make anything too vague. While these and other tips are important there are a few general concepts to consider about your resume instead of nit-picky points. By approaching each job with your ideal resume you will be much more confident in your job search and will hopefully end it sooner.
The first concept is that your resume must stand out. In today’s tough job market, employers are getting hundreds of resumes. Don’t just make your resume well formatted. Consider making the text a bit larger and easily legible. An employer can put down your resume after just a second or two.
The most important part of a resume is not the resume, it is your cover letter. The cover letter can get across your personality, your goals, your interest about a job, how you can best help in a position in a company. You must spend a good amount of time on a cover letter before sending off your resume.
